Whose Art is it Anyway?

the problem 9well at least part of it0 is that we as artists never really let ourselves off the hook. there are a lot of people out there making a 8lot8 of money either off of art or as 'artists'. the problem, is that we suffer from some problem by which we become an artist. we're walkig along 9or looking at something8 and then we've been saying, 'oh, i'm an artist' ,, sort of tossing it off easily. and then some point, it 8really8 hits us; i 8am8 an artist , now, how did that happen? it's sort of like it snuck up on it, all of a sudden. for the longest time we go thru this almost pretense that we 'are' an artist. we tell ourselves; yeah, that's why i'm doing this. after all, i'm an artist. and then we go and go and go, and it either comes of two ways; we stop being an artist 9and go and get a 8real job8 or it happens. and even still, after we've suffered so much, and all of the weird things that goes into it; eg, reading art history 9for no other reason than 8to read8 art history, or doing a series of sketches for no other reason than to do a study , because that's what we all 8know8 artists are supposed to do. and then it doesn't matter if we're a success or not, we keep doing it. we get the 9,to,5 job, we 'sell out' , artwork sold for pennies on the dollar, and when we get our first real chanse, the price tag goes up astronomically. well, that's a start. directors 9reel channel09 i/v with clint eastwood is back on... 42
